From time to time the Arts Council Malta opens schemes of various types to assist financially organisations and individuals in the area of the creatives. The following are two schemes currently open. Should you or your organisation require assistance in compiling and submitting the applications we can be of assistance.
Creative Innovators and Platforms Fund (deadline 18 December 2025)
The objectives of the fund are:
• to create an environment that supports and creates new opportunities for businesses, organisations, and individuals working in the cultural and creative sectors.
• to incentivise cultural and creative operators to embark on new innovative ventures that lead to new or improved business operations, and creative services and products.
• to alleviate part of the costs and risks associated with research and development.
• to incentivise development of technical capacities that lead to improved competitivity and sustainability within CCS businesses.
• to enhance opportunities for professionalisation of the cultural and creative sec-tors with the aim of developing a stronger entrepreneurial culture within an increasingly competitive and dynamic creative ecology.
• to foster an environment where CCI clusters can come together and grow.
Furthermore, applicants must qualify as one of the following:
• Creative professionals/individual artists
• Entities registered with the Malta Business Registry (including companies, partner-ships, foundations, and organisations/associations)
• Groups, collectives and consortia
• Registered cooperatives
• Voluntary organisations enrolled with the Commissioner for Voluntary Organisations and that carry out an economic activity within the meaning of Article 107 TFEU.
Scheme for the Partial Subsidisation of Bank-Approved Loans for Local Band Clubs (deadline 17 November 2026)
The aid is targeted exclusively at Local Band Clubs, which are community-based, cultural, voluntary organisations that generate public value. Support will strengthen their long-term financial sustainability and safeguard their ability to provide cultural services to the community. The primary objective of this scheme is to facilitate access to affordable financing for local band clubs by subsidising part of the interest costs on bank-approved loans. The subsidy will be based on a capping of a bank loan amounting to a maximum of €500,000 (five hundred thousand euros). This scheme supports proposals for a subsidy of the interest rate that will be applied for the duration of the loan, up to a maximum of 10 consecutive years (whichever comes first). The mechanism of this scheme is structured to ensure both efficiency and accountability while maintaining a direct link between band clubs and Arts Council Malta.
